The book represents two years of the curatorialproject that is the Museum of Broken Relationships. It is the curators’ selection of 100exhibits, out of many more, collected from people acrossEurope. The exhibits are composed of the objects ranging from banal to bizarre and their intimate, touching, ironic or humorous stories. It is a kind of a puzzling ‘Love Pictionary,’ where each player, tries to unravel certain intimate riddles of ones own,while also making them accessible to others.

Turkish premier in Istanbul

With its collection enriched in Manila and Cape Town, Museum of Broken Relationships is heading to Istanbul. The call for new donations is still open and if you would like to take part feel free to contact local organisers. info@asktangeriyekalanlar.com.

The exhibition will take place in Istinye Park from February 1 to 14, 2010. This is one more reason to visit the European cultural capital for 2010 and experience through this unique display how the people of Istanbul feel about love and break ups.

The wonderful and emotional experience of the Museum of Broken Relationships

is finally available in printed form. With its 200 full-colored pages the book represents two years of curatorial project that is the Museum of Broken Relationships. It is our personal selection of 100 exhibits, out of many more, collected from across Europe. It is a kind of puzzling Love Pictionary, where each donator, through objects ranging from banal to bizzare, tries to unravel certain intimate riddles of one's own, while also making them accessible to others. Going south!

After a very successful stop in Manila (Philippines) where we got around 50 new contributions to the Museum collection, the show is to land in Cape Town, South Africa, at the Theatre in the District, from 27 November to 5 December 2009.

This is the first stop of the Museum in Africa and we would like to encourage new donations and stories to come in.
