Museum of Broken Relationships received a touching e-mail last month:
... I am sending you a memoire of a beautiful love story that abruptly came to an end just two days ago. (...) I had had the chance to visit the Museum in Zagreb. Stories inside touched me so deep that I knew I would some day donate one of my own. (...) there was a reason I saw the Museum at that particular date. It had traveled to Istanbul before but the right time was when I was in Zagreb, feelingly coming to an end with my Croatian love.
We have decided to share the photo of the item and its story...
Tibetan Prayer Flags
15 June 2011 - 04 October 2011
Ankara, Turkey
A relationship that started in Zagreb and ended apart. A fairy tale of a certain Turkish girl named Pelin and a Croatian boy named S.Z. A beautiful love story that started on the first lunar eclipse of 2011 yet could not last until the second one that came only 6 months thereafter. Many objects could depict this tiny but wonderful love story. But the best one would be his Tibetan Prayer Flags he had given to her on her birthday, in Istanbul. All her prayers flew in the air but were left unanswered. I do hope that those prayers someday come true for many others that are in need. Too recent a break-up, too painful to tell. The only thing to say is that this relationship could not bear the test of distance. It was a tale of two cities (considerably far from each other). Your bearcub will miss you much, as long as she lives...
